I am excited to announce that my work for the 36th University of Houston School of Art Masters of Fine Art thesis exhibition has finally come to life! I would like to invite you to join me for the opening reception of "Angles of Incidence," on Friday, April 4 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Blaffer Art Museum (3401 Cullen Blvd Houston TX 77004).

My father and I embarked on a journey to White Sands, New Mexico this past winter and sought to re-create lost photographic memories since our last visit there twenty years ago. The resulting collaborative work, "Angles of Incidence," seeks to explore my relationship with my father by fusing together reverberations of memory with the internalization of loss.

I will also be give an artist talk about my work on Wednesday, April 9 from 12:00--1:00 p.m. at the Blaffer Art Museum.

Thank you for your support and I am looking forward to seeing you there!

"Collective Identity" Exhibition Opening this Saturday at Deborah Colton Gallery

You are invited to join me this Saturday from 6:00–9:00 p.m. for the opening reception of an exhibition that seeks to break the artistic mold through its advocacy for social change. Collective Identity calls for oneness, openness and for greater empathy to exist among humanity.

The group exhibition, Collective Identity,  explores the elusive sense of self through a close examination of the fragility of the human psyche. Ultimately, the show aims to emphasize the notion that we are all fragile human beings; whether it be through the loss of a job or the stress of transitional social and education activities, we may all be one step removed from being in a situation where we loose our sense of self and subsequently our sense of place. United by this notion, the show will encourage the building of a stronger collective identity in order to combat societal labeling.

The exhibition will be on view at the Deborah Colton Gallery September 7–October 19.
